Hazmat Transloader
Transload dry and/or liquid hazardous product from a
railcar hopper trailers and rail tanks into pneumatic tanks.

Qualifications/Basic Job Requirements |

Ability to speak, write and comprehend the English
language in accordance with all safety related
regulations and product specifications to avoid
product contaminations and in order to process
paperwork for invoicing, billing, etc.
Must also be able to identify correct trailers
and tankers that are located in the railyard.
Tractor/trailer experience a plus. |
| |
Ability to pass a pre-employment physical and drug
screen. Be able to do physical type work at
least 8 hours daily, at the medium level effort
which may require lifting up to 50 pounds several
times a day. Must be able to work casual
overtime as needed, with some weekend work. |
| |
All work is done out of doors during inclement
weather in winter and summer. |
| |
Must be able to wear proper protective equipment and
use a respirator when needed. |
| General Qualifications |
| |
Ability to transload product from one container to
another avoiding spills and contaminations. |
| |
Bend, stoop, climb, walk, sit and do medium effort
work for at least 6 hours during shift.
Frequent climbing in and out of cab tractor.
Frequent bending stooping and climbing to inspect
tractor and trailer per DOT regulations. Must
be able to work outdoors, in any weather, be able to
climb 30 to 50 feet without fear of heights, and
walk on top of railcars and or trailers with the
yard and terminal. |

Maintain all paperwork accurately which requires
verifying numbers, and identification of loads to
assure correct load is being transferred or loaded. |

Report discrepancies or problems to supervisors as
noted. |
| |
Perform work in a safe manner. |
| |
Must be able to comply with company regulations
regarding personal grooming, wearing of a
uniform, and wearing proper safety gear and
apparel. |
| |
Ability to follow both written and verbal
instructions, and to satisfactorily communicate
with other drivers, customers or works. |
| |
Must be able to perform the following physical
activities: |
| |
Lifting - hoses up to 50 lbs.
Carrying - hoses to to 50 lbs
Climbing - in and out of tractor, and on top
of trailer
Pushing - full strength horizontally to hook
and unhook trailer
Pulling - full strength horizontally
Bending - repeatedly each day
Crouching - repeatedly each day
Walking - up to 500 feet several times a day
Standing - 3 to 4 hours on occasion
Manual Dexterity (optional) - operation of
truck controls, tools
Math - able to do and understand simple math
(addition and subtraction)
English - able to read, write and understand
the English language
