Qualifications/Basic Job Requirements |

Posses the ability to perform basic tractor /
trailer general maintenance and repairs, including,
but not limited to welding. May need to driver
tractor / trailer in/out of the shop or through
facility parking lot. |

Ability to speak, write and comprehend the English
language in accordance with all safety related
regulations and product specifications to avoid
product contaminations in addition to processing
paperwork for invoicing, billing, etc. |
| |
Must be able to pass a pre-employment physical and
drug screen. Have the ability to do physical
type work, at the medium level, which may include
but limited to lifting up to 50 pounds, spending
time bending, climbing and stooping. |
| Essential Functions
Mechanic must be
able to: |
| |
Bend, stoop, climb, walk, sit and do medium effort
work for at least 8 hours during shift; Frequent
climbing in and out of cab of tractor; |
| |
Frequent bending, stooping and climbing to inspect
tractor and trailer per DOT regulations; |
| |
Sit while driving and walk within the yard; |
| |
Comply with company regulations regarding personal
grooming, wear a uniform, wear required safety
apparel, etc. |
| |
Do and understand simple match (addition and
subtraction); |
| |
Read, write and understand the English language; |
| |
Attend safety meetings and quality meetings and
participate in group discussions to offer
suggestions; |
| |
Maintain the cleanliness of surrounding work
area; keep neat and orderly; |
| |
Perform other duties assigned by terminal
leader; |
| |
Work flexible work schedules as needed including
evenings and weekends; |
| |
Ability to handle stressful situations;
Work in various temperatures (hotter in summer,
colder in winter). |
