Job Description: The Director, Business Development and Sales will play a crucial role in driving sales growth and revenue generation for Bulkmatic's bulk transportation and logistics product suite. Working in tandem with the VP, Business Development and Business Development Analyst, this position will focus on developing leads and prospects across various industries. With a keen eye on expanding the client base, the Director will be tasked with generating new sales leads and executing strategic sales plans to acquire and retain customers. Collaborating closely with internal customer service and operating teams, you will facilitate the onboarding of new business, ensure high levels of customer satisfaction and contribute to overall profitability.
Job Requirements: Responsibilities:
  1. Business Development and Sales Activities:
    • Identify and pursue new business opportunities within the bulk logistics transportation sector.
    • Stay informed about industry developments, regulatory changes, and market dynamics affecting the bulk logistics transportation sector and use market insights to drive strategic decision-making and identify growth opportunities.
    • Utilize tools creatively to generate leads, qualify prospects, and conduct cold calls.
    • Develop and maintain a robust pipeline of leads and prospects.
    • Manage outbound phone calls to sell Bulkmatic Solutions transportation solutions, negotiate rates, and service existing client network.
    • Process email communication and ensure timely responses to business-related inquiries.
    • Develop and implement effective sales strategies to achieve revenue targets and business objectives.
    • Prepare and present compelling proposals, bids, and contracts tailored to meet the specific requirements of prospective clients.
    • Effectively use systems and strategies for client pipeline management.
  1. Client Management:
    • Serve as the primary point of contact for client inquiries and concerns. Communicate customer expectations and provide ongoing support as needed.
    • Build and nurture strong relationships with new and existing clients to maximize retention and upsell opportunities.
    • Identify issues and collaborate cross-functionally to determine and implement optimal solutions.
    • Work closely with internal teams, including operations, planning and customer service, to implement solutions, manage new business on-boarding and ensure seamless execution of client requirements.
  1. Performance Management:
    • Meet or exceed expected Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
    • Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of lead generation, sales activities and client interactions within provided CRM tools.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Sales, Marketing, or related field (preferred).
  • Bi-lingual English and Spanish preferred.
  • Strong understanding of bulk transportation logistics with a proven track record of 2+ years of success in sales in bulk logistics or a related field.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and influence decision-makers.
  • Strategic thinker with a results-oriented mindset, the ability to work independently and a strong sense of urgency.
  • Confident decision-making, negotiation and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to cold call with a persistent and assertive style.
  • Proficiency in CRM software and Microsoft Office suite.
