Job Description: Bulkmatic is seeking a Fleet Safety Training Manager who will lead the development and execution of our safety focused training program. This role is essential in fostering a strong safety culture across our organization by delivering impactful training to both new hires and existing team members.
The Fleet Safety Training Manager will collaborate closely with our Safety, Compliance, and Operations teams to design and conduct weekly training sessions. This position is also responsible for tracking training results, evaluating trainer performance, and communicating results to leadership.
This role will report to the Director of Compliance.
Location: This position will work primarily on-site at the Bulkmatic corporate office in Griffith, IN with some time spent each week at the Bulkmatic University Training Center in Chicago Heights, IL. Job Requirements:
Primary Responsibilities: - Develop appropriate curriculum to meet company and industry training standards, reinforcing safety policies and procedures for drivers, driver trainers, and other positions as needed.
- Ensure OSHA regulations, safety policies and procedures are being followed.
- Standardize training processes
- Conduct weekly Safety Training/ Orientation Classes
- Schedule and facilitate on-going Train the Trainer evaluations and courses
- Continuously monitor and measure the performance of current trainers and provide coaching when necessary.
- Support the organization's Fleet Safety and Compliance programs and initiatives with a HANDS-ON people-based safety approach and mindset.
- Maintain necessary training documentation
- Schedule trainers to conduct hands-on new hire orientations
- Coordinate and communicate travel and accommodation for trainers and trainees
Qualifications and Requirements: - Must have well-developed interpersonal skills; ability to get along well with people of diverse backgrounds, experience, and personalities
- Strong Oral Presentation skills. Must have the ability to convey information and ideas in a variety of ways including presentations and demonstrations.
- Proactive problem-solver who is able to identify, investigate, and develop solutions to identify opportunities.
- Organized with a strong attention to details
- Must have excellent computer and typing skills, specifically Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Motivated to work independently to complete assignments as scheduled and assigned.
- Must be able to comprehend and comply with policies, regulations, and instructions.
Educational and Experience Requirements: - Bachelor's degree preferred
- Previous experience in education, training, and/or safety preferred.
Physical Requirements[1]: - Must be able to wear and use required safety equipment.
- May be required to perform physical work on occasion and/or for extended periods of time, including walking/standing, bending, stooping, reaching, pushing, pulling, squatting, kneeling, climbing, etc.
- Must be able to lift over 25 pounds
- Must have manual dexterity to operate any controls and equipment.
- May be required to climb trailers if necessary and be comfortable with heights.
- Must be able to perform required tasks outside in various weather conditions.
